Thanks Justin and Courtney

It was a great blessing to photograph these two- they graciously agreed to model for me so that I would have some images for senior portrait marketing materials- even though neither of them were totally comfortable with having their picture taken! You wouldn't know it though, they seemed like naturals and made my job so easy! Thank you guys- you have blessed me!!

Practice Session

I took Max and Ella up to the Rocks to get in another practice session before the real thing. Ella was an absolute monster- I didn't get a single shot of her face as it had a scowl on it the entire time. We took balloons for this session- she wanted no part of the being on her wrist, so she ripped them off and off into the blue sky they went. Oh well, Max was happily offering up poses and I needed to get a sense of the light and I was able to do that, so mission accomplished. Here's a few samples..it's a beautiful place!

And Now for Something Completely Different

Since I have been involved with 2 photography sites; SOAPhoto and BetterPhoto, I have been challenged to step out and try new things. Though I have taken pictures of flowers before, I now do it with new intention, new editing skills, and new knowledge of how to do it right. And though I really thought that flowers would be easier than children (after all they sit still!) - they aren't easier. It takes a special eye to get just the right composition, angles, perspectives, and colors. And if you're not careful, fower shots can look like every other flower shot. So...I'm working on it!!

The Kroeger Family

These are my very dear friends - a big blessed family of 8 (including Mom and Dad) We did two separate sessions with these guys, splitting up the girls and the boys. These are some of my favorite children in the world - all of them sweet and pure in heart. They were delightful to photograph!

Tia

Tia is my daughter Grace's friend. She graciously modeled for me so that I could get some practice in at a new site. She was a sweet heart- did everything I asked her to do and gave me the most beautiful smiles! She's a very pretty girl who looks like a mini version of her Mom. I've used lots of new color actions on these photographs- I love all this fun color!

Winning Photograph

I am so excited to have been picked for a top pick at SOA Photo this month. There are over 12,000 entries into this competition but only one photograph per category is chosen for a top pick. This same photo was chosen as a finalist at BetterPhoto for March, my very first time!! There are over 23,000 photos submitted on this website. I hope to continue doing work that is esteemed by other photographers!!!!

My First Blog!!

I decided it was high time to start a blog so that I can share my photo sessions with clients and friends..... so..here goes!!

We ventured out into the warm (finally) spring air in New England in search of some interesting places for photo sessions. We found this huge barn at The Rocks Estate in Bethlehem, NH that has a bright bue door, a red door, a dark stained door, lots of rocks, ponds, and mountain views- what a find!! We also found that a church in my neighborhood has a beautiful door with ornate door handles and lots of stone. Grace was very gracious in doing a practice session for me last week at both these spots. These are some of my favorite shots from this session:

I actually captured Ella here too- which is amazing- she has been getting nearly impossible to capture. She likes to psyche me out by pretending that she is going to cooperate but then - NOT!!!
